Extensions of the nerve cell body. They are short and branched and receive stimuli from other NEURONS.
Spiny processes on DENDRITES, each of which receives excitatory input from one nerve ending (NERVE ENDINGS). They are commonly found on PURKINJE CELLS and PYRAMIDAL CELLS.
